The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Iraq to the United Nation H.E. Mohammed Hussein Bahr Aluloom met with Ms. Suzan A’ref M’roof Chairwoman of Tamkeen Organization and coordinator of Iraqi National Team to implement Security Council resolution no. 1325 on woman, peace and security.

The Permanent Representative commended the efforts of the National team to implement Security Council resolution no. 1325 and the preparation of Iraq’s first national report to implement the national plan, which reflects a genuine desire to face the challenges of the Iraqi Society, as well as support the involvement of the Iraqi NGO’s to empower women, promote their realty and enable them to participate effectively at all levels in order to promote and develop society.

It is noteworthy to mention that Iraq was the first country in the Middle East and Africa to adopt the national plan for the implementation of resolution 1325.
