Iraq’s participation in the high-level meeting of the United Nations General Assembly to celebrate the International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace.

The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Iraq to the United Nations participated in the High Level Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly to mark the International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace, which was held in the General Assembly Hall on Wednesday, 24/4/2019.

On behalf of the Permanent Representative of Iraq, Mr.Yasser Wahib, First Secretary, delivered the statement of Iraq on this occasion, which included Iraq’s assertion that strengthening the multilateral and diplomatic approach is the basis for the advancement of the United Nations pillars of sustainable development, peace, security and human rights.

It also referred to the key role of the International Organization in addressing complex and multifaceted global challenges, being the most representative international organization and the realistic example of multilateralism.
