Al-Jaafari and the foreign Minister of Australia are discussing the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to improve them to the benefit of the two friendly peoples. Al-Jaafari expressed Iraq’s desire to sign a memorandum of understanding for bilateral security cooperation between Baghdad and Sydney.
Dr. Ibrahim al-Jaafari Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, met with the Foreign Minister of Australia Ms. Marys Payne, and discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to advance them to the benefit of the two peoples
Dr. Al-Jafari praised Australia’s positions in support of Iraq, particularly at the stage of confronting the terrorist groups of ISIS, explaining: The Iraqi people will not forget who stood with him in his ordeal, adding: Iraq after the terrorist groups of ISIS have begun the phase of reconstruction because when ISIS defeated they left behind huge traces of destruction and devastation.
Al-Jaafari expressed Iraq’s will to sign a memorandum of understanding for bilateral security cooperation between Baghdad and Sydney.
Ms. Maris, the Foreign Minister of Australia, praised Iraq’s role in the United Nations and its position in the Treaty of Banning Nuclear Weapons, expressed its admiration for the performance of Iraqi security forces in confronting ISIS’s terrorist groups and the determination of the Iraqi people.
Stressing that,The Australian government will focus its support for Iraq on the humanitarian side and return the displaced to their areas of residence.
